FAQ
Who and what is Grad Night?
Grad Night is made up of over 20 committees (all volunteers) that plan out an all-night party
for the graduating class of LAHS.
Why do we have Grad Night?
Graduation is a significant milestone in our student’s lives, and like any normal teenager,
they want to party and celebrate their “escape” from high school by going to the biggest and
absolute best party of their entire lives. Unfortunately, graduation night has statistically proven
to be one of the most dangerous nights in a teenager’s life. Too often, celebration involving
alcohol, loud music, drugs and driving is one of the biggest risks to these young adults. A lot of
parents are concerned about the safety and welfare of all the students after graduation and we
want all seniors to have a safe good time.
When and where will Grad Night take place?
Grad Night is after graduation on June 17, 2010, 8:30 pm - 5:00 am at the Los Alamitos High
School Gym.
When is check in time?
Check in by 8:30 pm.
Once checked in, can a student leave?
If a student is under 18 and desires to leave the party before 5:00 AM, his/her parent(s) will
be called for approval. If the student is over 18 and desires to leave the party before 5:00 AM,
his/her parent(s) will be called for notification. Parents will be also be notified if a student fails
to show up. Once a student leaves Grad Night, he/she may not return.

Are underclassmen and parents allowed to help?
It takes a whole community of parents of every grade levels to plan and execute the plans to
make Grad Night a reality. Yes – we welcome parents of freshman, sophomore, juniors and
seniors – even an hour a week will help. In addition, senior parents are not allowed to work
inside the gym or in the game areas on Grad Night.
Underclassmen will earn service hours for their community service hours but are not allowed
inside the gym during grad night. Underclassmen volunteers are needed most during take-down
after Grad Night is over, during setup in the evenings and helping us at the Saturday workshops
(yes – we have Friday workshops but those are during school hours).
I can only work couple of hours on Grad Night, is that ok?
Yes – every hour helps.
